Position Title: Community Guide Program Manager
Location: Remote with in-person meetings in Austin, TX
Employment Type: Full Time, remote office work, in person networking and meetings
Reports to: Executive Director. Works with Marketing and Program Coordinator and Administrative Assistant.

PurposeWorks is a 501(c)3 faith-based nonprofit organization whose vision is that every person is finding fulfillment by pursuing God’s purpose in their life and work. We have a 16 year track record of supporting over 12,500 people through a crossroads in life (entering workforce, job loss, mid-life crisis, divorce, entering empty nest or retirement).
Position Overview:
Seeking a mission-driven leader to help individuals pursue God’s purpose in life and work. This role focuses on building engaged, supportive communities — both online and in-person — through authentic relationships and practical support. Ideal candidates excel in leadership, program management, and driving strategic, organic engagement while overseeing events, volunteers, and content.
The three main programs they will oversee are Job Seekers Network (existing, including Design & Focus), Digital Community (new)/Information Hub (including Work as Worship) and the Guide Program (new). The Guide Program connects trained Guides with individuals seeking personalized job search help or purpose discovery in partnership with Crossroads Career Network Guide Program.

- Confidence to advise the Executive Director on community and spiritual engagement strategies, program improvements, volunteer coordination, and emerging opportunities to enhance PurposeWorks' impact and mission alignment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications That You Have:
- Responsible for ensuring all programs and content are of the highest quality by maintaining alignment with PurposeWorks’ brand standards and mission
- Measure success of programs by defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Eager and adept to ensure smooth program execution and meaningful participant engagement by serving as front face and facilitator of both live and virtual Monday Morning Meetings, coordination of featured speakers, and the organization.
- Intentionally fostering meaningful connections and promoting community and spiritual growth by utilizing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — including strong relational, empathetic, and active listening abilities — to build trust and engage diverse audiences, particularly Millennials and Generation X, through both written and verbal communication. This includes recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers, Moderators, coaches and Guides.
- Passion for advancing PurposeWorks’ mission through development efforts by collaborating with the fundraising team to engage community members in giving initiatives like the Giving Circle and fundraising events. Share compelling impact stories and nurture relationships to inspire ongoing donations and sponsorships.
- Faithful to producing high-quality, mission-aligned content by crafting thought-provoking, inspirational resources.
- Expertise in digital community platforms and event technology
- Dedication to proactive networking and community representation.
Preferred Experience That You Have:
- 5-8 years of experience in community management, ministry, career coaching, or a related field.
- Experience with online engagement, volunteer coordination, event facilitation, spiritual formation, job search, and purpose discovery.
- Coordinating and hosting virtual and in person training and networking events.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Ministry, Communications, Business, HR, Social Work, or Coaching) is beneficial but not required.
